under fire conditions- Test on gases evolved during combustion of materials from cables- Part 2-1: Procedures.

Determination of the amount of halogen acid gas.

This part of the standard defines the method to measure the amount of halogen acid evolved and which should

be expressed in hydrochloric acid. The amount of halogen acid contained in the test solution is determined by a

titration method.

If the cables are described as zero halogen or halogen free, it is recommended that the hydrochoric acid yield

should be less than 0.5%.
